I appreciate your "everyone has good intentions" mindset. I do not share it. The ability to blame someone else has little to do with the legal mess. If they get caught, they'll pay and not care. We see it all to often - how many times has Facebook been fined and still acts like Facebook (or Meta or whatever the hell that cesspool calls itself).

It shows why tech CEOs and the "move fast, break things" culture is going to ruin capitalism. We've moved it from the social media app to the most important aspects. Moving slow is seen as a disadvantage instead of justifiable caution. Fire a bunch of people and then rehire a bunch - they are just a resource.

The real question for you Christopher - why do you keep writing on topics that get me fired up? :)

Well, to be clear, I won't pretend that everyone has good intentions. I've crossed paths with many who don't hide the fact that their intentions are destructive and self-serving. So, yes, they're definitely out there.

I think the challenge is that many have convinced themselves they have good intentions, failing to see they're really just chasing what's in their best interest. We have a funny way of doing what's best in our own eyes and then reverse engineering an argument for why it's actually what's best.

I'm right there with you that the "move fast; ask questions later" is huge right now. It's one of the biggest things I'm trying to battle against, and not just because I want to slow things down or get in the way. It actually doesn't require a ton of time, and the overall gains in the end are exponentially greater. The challenge is that everyone is on such an adrenaline high, they struggle to even see or imagine that.

As to your final question, I guess to hopefully keep people uncomfortable and looking in the mirror enough they can't ignore these things. Holding to the belief that maybe if we all make small steps to change our trajectory, we can avoid flying into the sun. ;)
