Weekly Update Q&A - July 18

Going Deeper on the Most Frequent Questions Related to This Week's Podcast

Happy Friday Everyone!

It’s been a couple weeks, but I’m back with my live QA. If you haven’t checked out the full podcast, you can catch it on Spotify, YouTube, or any of your favorite channels.

My topics this week were:

  • Breaking down the new trend of CEO’s bragging about AI layoffs, what it means, and how to respond.

  • What Bill Gates’ comments about coding being a human job for centuries while also saying all other jobs can be automated says about our biggest gap.

  • Breaking down some real examples of AI catastrophic failures, drawing attention to the ROI of AI investments.

However, this was my follow-up QA where I talked through some of the most prominent follow-up questions on people’s minds. These are the ones I hit on.

  1. “How do I figure out which parts of my job are actually at risk?”

  2. “What does it look like to be a ‘good leader’ right now, when I genuinely don’t know what’s coming?”

  3. “You said we’re automating based on sidewalk assumptions. How do I actually get closer to the work without overstepping or micromanaging?”

  4. “You said AI doesn’t destroy jobs; people do. But what does a healthy, responsible AI rollout actually look like?”

  5. “You talked about the risks, like McDonald’s and Workday, but what are some smart wins you’ve seen with AI done right?”

  6. “Isn’t it inevitable that tech eats all our jobs? Why fight it?”

I hope you found this helpful. Have a great weekend.

And with that, I’ll see you on the other side.
